Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Untitled (Drawing) by Arshile Gorky. The price achieved of USD 252,000.00 (€ 236,530.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arshile Gorky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Charred Beloved I in November this year with an auction result of USD 23,410,000.00 (€ 21,461,312.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Drawing) von Arshile Gorky zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 252.000,00 (€ 236.530,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arshile Gorky erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Charred Beloved I im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.410.000,00 (€ 21.461.312,80).
