Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Study for Nighttime, Enigma and Nostalgia by Arshile Gorky was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 66,040.00 (€ 61,986.11). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arshile Gorky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Charred Beloved I in November this year with an auction result of USD 23,410,000.00 (€ 21,461,312.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Study for Nighttime, Enigma and Nostalgia von Arshile Gorky kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 66.040,00 (€ 61.986,11) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arshile Gorky erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Charred Beloved I im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.410.000,00 (€ 21.461.312,80).
