Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Arshile Gorky was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 50,400.00 (€ 46,966.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arshile Gorky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Charred Beloved I in November this year with an auction result of USD 23,410,000.00 (€ 21,461,312.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Arshile Gorky kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 46.966,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arshile Gorky erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Charred Beloved I im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.410.000,00 (€ 21.461.312,80).
