Auction result misses estimated price range
In March this year a collector was able to acquire this work without title by Arshile Gorky for GBP 152,400.00 (€ 173,384.44). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale at Phillips in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arshile Gorky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Charred Beloved I in November this year with an auction result of USD 23,410,000.00 (€ 21,461,312.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Arshile Gorky für GBP 152.400,00 (€ 173.384,44) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200.000,00 – 300.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arshile Gorky erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Charred Beloved I im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.410.000,00 (€ 21.461.312,80).
