This artwork by Alma Thomas achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2005. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art auction, the work Red Violet Nursery Viewed From Above sold for USD 144,000.00 (€ 111,034.00) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alma Thomas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Fantastic Sunset in May this year with an auction result of USD 3,922,000.00 (€ 3,681,246.48).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Alma Thomas erzielte im März 2005 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Red Violet Nursery Viewed From Above für USD 144.000,00 (€ 111.034,00) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alma Thomas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Fantastic Sunset im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.922.000,00 (€ 3.681.246,48).
