In March last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Discoveries, which included the work La mirada del hombre de la corbata by Alfredo Castañeda. The »bidding war« ended at USD 22,680.00 (€ 20,445.33), 51% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfredo Castañeda achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Nave (El Arca) in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 352,000.00 (€ 265,440.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Discoveries durch, in der auch die Arbeit La mirada del hombre de la corbata von Alfredo Castañeda zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 22.680,00 (€ 20.445,33) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfredo Castañeda erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Nave (El Arca) im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 352.000,00 (€ 265.440,01).
