This artwork by Alfredo Castañeda achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Sydney in November this year. In the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction, the work Bipartición de un sabio pensador sold for USD 94,500.00 (€ 86,633.66) - well above the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfredo Castañeda - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La Nave (El Arca), which sold at auction in November 2006 for USD 352,000.00 (€ 265,440.01).

Für andere Arbeiten von Alfredo Castañeda mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La Nave (El Arca) beobachtet, die im November 2006 für USD 352.000,00 (€ 265.440,01) versteigert wurde.
