Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Renewal by Yuyu Yang was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in January 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 75,000.00 (€ 8,890.32). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yuyu Yang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Advent of the Phoenix in November 2007 with an auction result of HKD 2,047,500.00 (€ 178,988.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Renewal von Yuyu Yang im Januar 2016 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 75.000,00 (€ 8.890,32) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yuyu Yang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Advent of the Phoenix im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.047.500,00 (€ 178.988,97).
