This artwork by Yuyu Yang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2007. In the Chinese 20th CenturyArt auction, the work Advent of the Phoenix sold for HKD 2,047,500.00 (€ 178,988.97) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 800,000.00. This high result makes Advent of the Phoenix the most expensive artwork by Yuyu Yang that we have observed at auctions so far.
