The work Colour Wheel by Yan Lei was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Sothebys in London in October 2013. The auction ended at the price of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 35,459.76), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yan Lei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Arrival: New York No. 1, which sold at auction in May 2012 for HKD 1,100,000.00 (€ 114,590.75).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Colour Wheel von Yan Lei wurde im Oktober 2013 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 35.459,76) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Yan Lei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Arrival: New York No. 1 beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für HKD 1.100.000,00 (€ 114.590,75) versteigert wurde.
