Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Wilfredo Lam could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern Day Auction auction, the work Sur la main droite changed hands for USD 226,800.00 (€ 211,350.29) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wilfredo Lam achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Omi Obini in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 9,603,800.00 (€ 8,551,153.06).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wilfredo Lam konnte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern Day Auction wechselte die Arbeit Sur la main droite für USD 226.800,00 (€ 211.350,29) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wilfredo Lam erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Omi Obini im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.603.800,00 (€ 8.551.153,06).
