Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ils tendent leur muscles, 1973 by Wilfredo Lam was sold in the Prints and Multiples auction at Bonhams in Brussels in June this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 200.00 – 400.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 230.40 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wilfredo Lam achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Omi Obini in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 9,603,800.00 (€ 8,551,153.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Ils tendent leur muscles, 1973 von Wilfredo Lam wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion Prints and Multiples bei Bonhams in Brüssel versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 200,00 – 400,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 230,40 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wilfredo Lam erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Omi Obini im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.603.800,00 (€ 8.551.153,06).
