Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Pastoral Song by Wei Dong was sold in the Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. It changed hands for a price of USD 13,860.00 (€ 11,802.78) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wei Dong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wanna Fly, which sold at auction in May 2013 for HKD 375,000.00 (€ 37,188.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Pastoral Song von Wei Dong wurde im März 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 13.860,00 (€ 11.802,78) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wei Dong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Wanna Fly beobachtet, die im Mai 2013 für HKD 375.000,00 (€ 37.188,17) versteigert wurde.
