In February last year Phillips in an online auction held the auction My Kawaii Valentine: Online Auction, which included the work Girl with Duck #2 by Wei Dong. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 69,300.00 (€ 7,896.89), 73% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Wei Dong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wanna Fly in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 375,000.00 (€ 37,188.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 73 % übertroffen
Im Februar letzten Jahres führte Phillips in einer Online-Auktion die Auktion My Kawaii Valentine: Online Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Girl with Duck #2 von Wei Dong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 69.300,00 (€ 7.896,89) und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wei Dong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Wanna Fly im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 375.000,00 (€ 37.188,17).
