Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Prints & Multiples featuring The Gilbert E. Kaplan Collection of Surrealist Prints, which included the work Vache, from Paul Eluard Les Animaux et leurs hommes by Valentine Hugo. The price achieved of USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,363.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Valentine Hugo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait d'Arthur Rimbaud in March last year with an auction result of GBP 1,042,750.00 (€ 1,236,297.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Prints & Multiples featuring The Gilbert E. Kaplan Collection of Surrealist Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Vache, from Paul Eluard Les Animaux et leurs hommes von Valentine Hugo zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.363,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Valentine Hugo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait d'Arthur Rimbaud im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.042.750,00 (€ 1.236.297,48).
