Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work Le Café by Valentine Prax. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,668.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Valentine Prax - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Paysage, which sold at auction in July 2008 for EUR 16,110.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le Café von Valentine Prax zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.668,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Valentine Prax mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Paysage beobachtet, die im Juli 2008 für EUR 16.110,00 versteigert wurde.
