Auction result well in line with expectations
The work French chantier Naval by Valentine Prax was auctioned at Sothebys in Amsterdam in June 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 4,375.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Valentine Prax - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Paysage, which sold at auction in July 2008 for EUR 16,110.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit French chantier Naval von Valentine Prax kam im Juni 2010 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 4.375,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Valentine Prax mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Paysage beobachtet, die im Juli 2008 für EUR 16.110,00 versteigert wurde.
