Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Fire Witch by Umar Rashid was auctioned at Phillips in New York in March this year. The price achieved of USD 10,160.00 (€ 9,345.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Umar Rashid - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Is there heaven for a collaborator/ colonizer? The Ballad of Hernan. (Or, Mission Control)., which sold at auction in March last year for USD 23,940.00 (€ 21,581.18).

Die Arbeit The Fire Witch von Umar Rashid kam im März diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.160,00 (€ 9.345,11) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Umar Rashid mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Is there heaven for a collaborator/ colonizer?
