This artwork by Umar Rashid achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in April last year. In the Collection Loïc Malle: Only Time Will Tell auction, the work Major Tom; Untitled Couple Denmark 1742 (two works) sold for EUR 8,820.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Umar Rashid - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Is there heaven for a collaborator/ colonizer? The Ballad of Hernan. (Or, Mission Control)., which sold at auction in March last year for USD 23,940.00 (€ 21,581.18).

In der Auktion Collection Loïc Malle: Only Time Will Tell wurde die Arbeit Major Tom; Untitled Couple Denmark 1742 (two works) für EUR 8.820,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Umar Rashid mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Is there heaven for a collaborator/ colonizer?
