Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Sothebys in Paris held the auction Collection Loïc Malle: Only Time Will Tell, which included the work Portrait of Mami Wata by Umar Rashid. The price achieved of EUR 6,300.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Umar Rashid - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Is there heaven for a collaborator/ colonizer? The Ballad of Hernan. (Or, Mission Control)., which sold at auction in March last year for USD 23,940.00 (€ 21,581.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Collection Loïc Malle: Only Time Will Tell durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Mami Wata von Umar Rashid zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 6.300,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Umar Rashid mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Is there heaven for a collaborator/ colonizer? The Ballad of Hernan. (Or, Mission Control). beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für USD 23.940,00 (€ 21.581,18) versteigert wurde.
