Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work Princess by Tschabalala Self. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,160.00 (€ 11,824.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tschabalala Self achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Princess in February 2020 with an auction result of GBP 435,000.00 (€ 504,165.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion Evening & Day Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Princess von Tschabalala Self zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.160,00 (€ 11.824,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tschabalala Self erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Princess im Februar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 435.000,00 (€ 504.165,99).
