In June this year Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century to Now, which included the work Daydream by Tschabalala Self. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 127,000.00 (€ 147,806.14), 27% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tschabalala Self - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Princess, which sold at auction in February 2020 for GBP 435,000.00 (€ 504,165.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century to Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Daydream von Tschabalala Self zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 127.000,00 (€ 147.806,14) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Tschabalala Self mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Princess beobachtet, die im Februar 2020 für GBP 435.000,00 (€ 504.165,99) versteigert wurde.
