Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Trevor Bell achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Coil sold for USD 8,820.00 (€ 7,510.86) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Trevor Bell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Black And White Abstraction, which sold at auction in December 2007 for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 16,136.11).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Trevor Bell erzielte im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Coil für USD 8.820,00 (€ 7.510,86) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Trevor Bell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Black And White Abstraction beobachtet, die im Dezember 2007 für GBP 11.875,00 (€ 16.136,11) versteigert wurde.
