This work of art by Thomas Joshua Cooper could be acquired at Phillips in New York in May 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Part II auction, the work Two works: Ritual Ground, San Jose Canyon, New Mexico and Ritual Guardians with Polar Pyramid Stones, Stanton Moor, Derbyshire, England changed hands for USD 4,000.00 (€ 2,570.69) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Joshua Cooper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unexpected Nightfall- The Mid North Atlantic Ocean, Porto Moniz, The Island of Madeira (Near the North-most point of the Island), Portugal, which sold at auction in June 2008 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,270.27).
