Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work A Premonitional Work by Thomas Joshua Cooper for USD 4,000.00 (€ 2,570.69). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Part II at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Joshua Cooper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unexpected Nightfall- The Mid North Atlantic Ocean, Porto Moniz, The Island of Madeira (Near the North-most point of the Island), Portugal, which sold at auction in June 2008 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,270.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Premonitional Work von Thomas Joshua Cooper für USD 4.000,00 (€ 2.570,69) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Part II bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Joshua Cooper mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Unexpected Nightfall- The Mid North Atlantic Ocean, Porto Moniz, The Island of Madeira (Near the North-most point of the Island), Portugal beobachtet, die im Juni 2008 für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.270,27) versteigert wurde.
