Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Old World by Taner Ceylan was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 58,850.00 (€ 73,169.65). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Taner Ceylan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 1879 (From The Lost Painting Series), which sold at auction in April 2011 for GBP 229,250.00 (€ 258,175.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Old World von Taner Ceylan im Oktober 2012 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 58.850,00 (€ 73.169,65) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Taner Ceylan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 1879 (From The Lost Painting Series) beobachtet, die im April 2011 für GBP 229.250,00 (€ 258.175,01) versteigert wurde.
