This artwork by Taner Ceylan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in April 2010. In the Contemporary Art/Turkish auction, the work 1881 (From The Lost Painting Series) sold for GBP 121,250.00 (€ 139,535.03) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 45,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Taner Ceylan; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 1879 (From The Lost Painting Series) sold at auction in April 2011 with the realized price of GBP 229,250.00 (€ 258,175.01).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Taner Ceylan erzielte im April 2010 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art/Turkish wurde die Arbeit 1881 (From The Lost Painting Series) für GBP 121.250,00 (€ 139.535,03) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 45.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Taner Ceylan; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit 1879 (From The Lost Painting Series) im April 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 229.250,00 (€ 258.175,01).
