Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work San Titre #6, Samsonite (Grande) by Subodh Gupta. The »bidding war« ended at USD 21,420.00 (€ 18,391.00), 19% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Subodh Gupta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in October 2008 with an auction result of HKD 12,980,000.00 (€ 1,320,312.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit San Titre #6, Samsonite (Grande) von Subodh Gupta zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 21.420,00 (€ 18.391,00) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Subodh Gupta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 12.980.000,00 (€ 1.320.312,25).
