Auction result well in line with expectations
The work There is always cinema (IV) by Subodh Gupta was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in London in April last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 37,800.00 (€ 45,075.16) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Subodh Gupta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in October 2008 with an auction result of HKD 12,980,000.00 (€ 1,320,312.25).

Die Arbeit There is always cinema (IV) von Subodh Gupta wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Contemporary Curated bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 37.800,00 (€ 45.075,16) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Subodh Gupta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 12.980.000,00 (€ 1.320.312,25).
