Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Curry 2 (2) by Subodh Gupta was auctioned at Phillips in London in December this year. The price achieved of GBP 57,150.00 (€ 65,834.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Subodh Gupta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in October 2008 with an auction result of HKD 12,980,000.00 (€ 1,320,312.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Curry 2 (2) von Subodh Gupta kam im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 57.150,00 (€ 65.834,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Subodh Gupta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 12.980.000,00 (€ 1.320.312,25).
