Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Marianne pussycat (Marianne Faithfull) by Stella Vine was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,625.00 (€ 3,912.77). Admittedly, works by Stella Vine have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Superman in October 2008 with an auction result of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,933.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Marianne pussycat (Marianne Faithfull) von Stella Vine im Mai 2011 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.625,00 (€ 3.912,77) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Stella Vine auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Superman im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 15.933,02).
