Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work „Radio Cubano“. by Stan Douglas was auctioned at Grisebach in December 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 312.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stan Douglas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Twenty-Five photographs from the Detroit Series (Part I): Home Beside Jefferson Junior High; Abandoned Apartment Building; Fox Creek; Private Park at Grosse Pointe Farms; Meadow and Golightly Education Center; Gem Theater, The Horseshoe, Paradise Val in November 2002 with an auction result of USD 71,700.00 (€ 72,190.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit „Radio Cubano“. von Stan Douglas im Dezember 2018 bei Grisebach versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 312,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stan Douglas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Twenty-Five photographs from the Detroit Series (Part I): Home Beside Jefferson Junior High; Abandoned Apartment Building; Fox Creek; Private Park at Grosse Pointe Farms; Meadow and Golightly Education Center; Gem Theater, The Horseshoe, Paradise Val im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 71.700,00 (€ 72.190,90).
