In September 2002 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Cattle in a meadow by Simon van den Berg. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,553.50 73% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Simon van den Berg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Herding the flock in May 2011 with an auction result of EUR 12,500.00.

Im September 2002 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cattle in a meadow von Simon van den Berg zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.553,50 und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Simon van den Berg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Herding the flock im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 12.500,00.
