Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A shepherd and his flock in a heath landscape by Simon van den Berg was sold in the PICTURES WATERCOLOURS DRAWINGS AND COPIES AFTER OLD MASTERS auction at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2000. The price achieved of NLG 936.16 (€ 431.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as NLG 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Simon van den Berg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Herding the flock in May 2011 with an auction result of EUR 12,500.00.

Die Arbeit A shepherd and his flock in a heath landscape von Simon van den Berg wurde im September 2000 in der Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS DRAWINGS AND COPIES AFTER OLD MASTERS bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von NLG 936,16 (€ 431,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit NLG 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Simon van den Berg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Herding the flock im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 12.500,00.
