Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A shepherd and his flock in a heath landscape by Simon van den Berg was sold in the PICTURES WATERCOLOURS DRAWINGS AND COPIES AFTER OLD MASTERS auction at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2000. The price achieved of NLG 936.16 (€ 431.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as NLG 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Simon van den Berg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Herding the flock in May 2011 with an auction result of EUR 12,500.00.
