A top price for Simon van den Berg - as previously expected
In May 2011 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters and 19th Century Art, which included the work Herding the flock by Simon van den Berg. The price achieved of EUR 12,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Herding the flock is the most expensive artwork by Simon van den Berg that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Mai 2011 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Herding the flock von Simon van den Berg zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 12.500,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Herding the flock das teuerste Kunstwerk von Simon van den Berg, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
