Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2000 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction NINETEENTH CENTURY ART, which included the work A pastoral scene with a shepherdess and a cowherd conversing at a crossroad by Simon van den Berg. The price achieved of NLG 3,510.60 (€ 1,684.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as NLG 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Simon van den Berg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Herding the flock in May 2011 with an auction result of EUR 12,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2000 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion NINETEENTH CENTURY ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit A pastoral scene with a shepherdess and a cowherd conversing at a crossroad von Simon van den Berg zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von NLG 3.510,60 (€ 1.684,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit NLG 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Simon van den Berg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Herding the flock im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 12.500,00.
