Auction result misses estimated price range

In March 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Shade) by Sebastian Black for USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,626.80). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Online | New York at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Sebastian Black have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chess Sickness in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 27,287.61).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Im März 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (Shade) von Sebastian Black für USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.626,80) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Online | New York bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sebastian Black auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chess Sickness im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 27.287,61).
