Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Poppy Red) by Sebastian Black was sold in the Desktop: Online Auction auction at Phillips in an online auction in April 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,189.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sebastian Black - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Chess Sickness, which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 30,000.00 (€ 27,287.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Poppy Red) von Sebastian Black wurde im April 2020 in der Auktion Desktop: Online Auction bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.189,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Sebastian Black mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Chess Sickness beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für USD 30.000,00 (€ 27.287,61) versteigert wurde.
