Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pont Royal Table by Saul Steinberg was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 16,380.00 (€ 15,264.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Saul Steinberg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Twenty Americans (Twenty Professions) in November last year with an auction result of USD 113,400.00 (€ 109,851.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Pont Royal Table von Saul Steinberg kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 16.380,00 (€ 15.264,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Saul Steinberg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Twenty Americans (Twenty Professions) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 113.400,00 (€ 109.851,79).
