Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Saul Steinberg achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in February this year. In the Vintage Posters Online auction, the work The New Yorker. 1976 sold for GBP 1,912.50 (€ 2,181.46) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 900.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Saul Steinberg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Twenty Americans (Twenty Professions) in November last year with an auction result of USD 113,400.00 (€ 109,851.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Saul Steinberg erzielte im Februar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Vintage Posters Online wurde die Arbeit The New Yorker. 1976 für GBP 1.912,50 (€ 2.181,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 900,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Saul Steinberg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Twenty Americans (Twenty Professions) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 113.400,00 (€ 109.851,79).
