Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Saul Steinberg could be acquired at Bonhams in December last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Deck the WallsPrints & Multiples auction, the work Speech changed hands for USD 89.25 (€ 83.43) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Saul Steinberg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Twenty Americans (Twenty Professions) in November last year with an auction result of USD 113,400.00 (€ 109,851.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Saul Steinberg konnte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Bonhams für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Deck the WallsPrints & Multiples wechselte die Arbeit Speech für USD 89,25 (€ 83,43) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Saul Steinberg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Twenty Americans (Twenty Professions) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 113.400,00 (€ 109.851,79).
