Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscape Art Sign (Emory Douglas) by Sam Durant was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,931.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Sam Durant have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Can Anyone Hear Me? in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 43,205.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Landscape Art Sign (Emory Douglas) von Sam Durant kam im März 2017 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.931,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sam Durant auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Can Anyone Hear Me? im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 43.205,38).
