The work Sun, sea and sand by Roy Petley was sold in the British, Continental & Russian Pictures auction at Christies in London in April 2007. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,513.91), 60% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Roy Petley; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Beach At Dueville sold at auction in November 2006 with the realized price of GBP 3,840.00 (€ 5,702.52).

Die Arbeit Sun, sea and sand von Roy Petley wurde im April 2007 in der Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.400,00 (€ 3.513,91) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Roy Petley; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Beach At Dueville im November 2006 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 3.840,00 (€ 5.702,52).
