The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,513.91), 60% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Roy Petley; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Beach At Dueville sold at auction in November 2006 with the realized price of GBP 3,840.00 (€ 5,702.52).
