Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Winter by Roy Petley was sold in the British, Continental & Russian Pictures auction at Christies in London in April 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 540.00 (€ 790.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Roy Petley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Beach At Dueville in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 3,840.00 (€ 5,702.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Winter von Roy Petley wurde im April 2007 in der Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 540,00 (€ 790,63) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Roy Petley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Beach At Dueville im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.840,00 (€ 5.702,52).
