Description
RODNEY GRAHAM (B. 1949) Typewriter with Flour numbered "Edition: 7/10" on a plaque affixed to the side chromogenic transparency, plexiglass, steel surround with Hammerite 15 3 ⁄ 4 x 19 1 ⁄ 2 x 4 1 ⁄ 8 in. (40 x 49.5 x 10.5 cm.) Executed in 2003. This work is number seven from an edition of ten plus three artist's proofs, and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.

This price was achieved in the auction First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rodney Graham - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Inverted Drip Painting #47, which sold at auction in October 2018 for GBP 150,000.00 (€ 169,153.72).
