The work Essence of Smoke by Rodney Graham was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art auction at Phillips in New York in July this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 38,100.00 (€ 34,573.50), 27% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Rodney Graham have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Inverted Drip Painting #47 in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 150,000.00 (€ 169,153.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Essence of Smoke von Rodney Graham wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 38.100,00 (€ 34.573,50) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rodney Graham auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Inverted Drip Painting #47 im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 150.000,00 (€ 169.153,72).
