This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Online at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 5,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Richmond Burton; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Eyes In The Heat sold at auction in July 2019 with the realized price of USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,846.36).
