Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Untitled, 1990 by Richmond Burton. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,020.00 (€ 843.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richmond Burton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eyes In The Heat in July 2019 with an auction result of USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,846.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2021 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, 1990 von Richmond Burton zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.020,00 (€ 843,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richmond Burton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Eyes In The Heat im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.846,36).
