Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Study For Exterior Mural Painted On The Boston Architectural Center And Boston Architectural Center by Richard Haas was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,195.00 (€ 962.39). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Haas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Manhattan View, Battery Park; and Manhattan View, Battery Park, Night, which sold at auction in October 2014 for USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,394.25).
