Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Manhattan View, Governor's Island by Richard Haas was auctioned at Phillips in New York in July 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,125.00 (€ 955.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Haas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Manhattan View, Battery Park; and Manhattan View, Battery Park, Night, which sold at auction in October 2014 for USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,394.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Manhattan View, Governor's Island von Richard Haas kam im Juli 2020 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.125,00 (€ 955,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Haas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Manhattan View, Battery Park; and Manhattan View, Battery Park, Night beobachtet, die im Oktober 2014 für USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.394,25) versteigert wurde.
